Prada Mode is all set to bring its multi-sensory experience to Abu Dhabi
Text Hamza Shehryar
Prada Mode is set to take over Abu Dhabi, blending art, sound, and culture at the MiZa neighbourhood in Mina Zayed on February 11 and 12.
For the eleventh edition of its abiding private cultural haven, the luxury Italian fashion house has reunited with multidisciplinary artist Theaster Gates to craft an experience that rejects digital excess in favour of the minimal and intimate in an increasingly AI-driven world.
The space will offer two tonally and sonically distinct experiences through architectural intervention. Anchored in the format of a circle within a square, a cylindrical structure will rise at the centre of the venue to divide the space into a boundary between two completely different realms.
The musical program, co-curated by Gates and NTS, the genre-defying online radio platform founded by Femi Adeyemi, will set the tone for an immersive sensory experience. The cultural programming – curated by cultural strategist Myrna Ayad – will put a spotlight on regional talent, with particular focus on the creativity and contributions of Arab women. And chef Salam Daqqaq’s culinary offerings will celebrate the diasporic communities that define Abu Dhabi’s cultural landscape.
“For me, this space is a reflection on the spiritual possibilities of quietude, the power of gathering, and reverence for Arab women,” says Gates. “As we increasingly exist in a world where computer-generated possibilities govern our reality, my concept for Prada Mode Abu Dhabi is an homage to our interiority, the human hand, and our spiritual contributions to the rich cultural histories of this region.”
After an exclusive two-day run as a private members club, Prada Mode Abu Dhabi will open to the public on February 13th and 14th, inviting audiences into a creative hub where art, music, and community intersect, shift, and transform.
