Cruising: Dressing up and veering Off
Text Raïs Saleh
Chanel since its creation has been a thing of near unrivalled historical, artistic and sartorial finesse. It is the minimalist yet eternally graceful fashion brand whose signature pieces have remained staples in the wardrobes of the well-dressed for over a century.

In “Cruising”, photographed by Moz and styled by Laura Jane Brown, the timeless haute couture maison is remembering the moments made glamorous by film stars and tycoons alike- the act of cruising in a beautiful automobile, driving gloves on, the Mediterranean sun glinting through cat-eye sunglasses. It is Grace Kelly driving a Sunbeam Alpine Mk I convertible into the Monte Carlo vista, it is Frank Sinatra driving his bespoke-suited mobster mates around in his 1969 Lamborghini Miura, it is Jackie Kennedy in her pink Chanel suit waving gracefully at excited crowds from the backseat of a1961 Lincoln Continental convertible limousine on the fateful day her husband was assassinated in 1963.
Chanel’s timeless allure is on full display, and along with it, the grandeur of being suited in the name while at the wheel of a majestic ride.
