What went down at Casablanca’s court-side chic dinner in Abu Dhabi

Casablanca, the fashion house founded by French-Moroccan designer Charaf Tajer and celebrated for its seamless blend of luxury and leisurewear, hosted an exclusive dinner to mark the launch of the Casablanca Tennis Club in Abu Dhabi.
In partnership with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), evening was an ode to elevated sportswear, fine dining, and socialising—all staged on a tennis court at the Ilios Restaurant & Beach Club on Al Hudayriyat Island.
As guests trickled in, they were greeted by a live DJ set, setting the perfect vibe against a backdrop of lounge chairs topped with Casablanca-themed umbrellas. The tennis court itself served as the centrepiece, awash in vibrant pastel hues that played off the stark white court lines, capturing the brand’s signature playful elegance.

The evening’s menu was seemingly inspired by a globe-trotting aesthetic, perfect to fit the brand’s fusion of travel, culture, and elegance. Each course paid homage to different regions along the Atlantic and African coasts.

The evening’s menu was a culinary journey inspired by coastal regions, beginning with French Atlantic and West African Coast flavours of langoustine and amber sauce, followed by the bold spices of the Cameroon Coast. The Sahel presented a contemporary take on branzino with mild spices, while dessert, Sahara Crossing, blended citrus and dates with an unexpected combination of chocolate and wasabi.
True to form, Casablanca’s event was an immersive experience that was part fashion display, part cultural expression. The setting was a nod to the brand’s signature aesthetic, where sport meets sophistication, and the tennis court wasn’t just a backdrop but a statement of the Casablanca lifestyle.
