Exclusive BTS from Ali Sethi’s Love Language, a visual world shaped by Somnath Bhatt
Text Fady Nageeb

Few debut albums arrive as fully realized as Love Language, Ali Sethi’s luminous blend of Sufi poetry, bhangra rhythm, and electronic experimentation. Described by The Guardian as “flamboyant and defiant,” it’s a record that slips between tenderness and transgression, proof of Sethi’s instinct to hold heritage and futurism in the same breath.
Now, we’re sharing exclusive behind-the-scenes imagery from the making of its album artwork, offering a rare look into the collaboration between Sethi and artist-designer Somnath Bhatt. Known for his intricate, symbolic visual language, Bhatt transforms Sethi into a figure of both myth and modernity; a mystic, a raver, a diva. Each frame folds South Asian ritual into contemporary performance, translating the music’s emotional hybridity into form.
With custom pieces by Rajesh Pratap Singh and Raw Mango and accessories by Zohra Rahman and Bond Hardware, the visuals echo the album’s tone: bold yet meditative, opulent yet intimate. Together, sound and image form a singular statement, an ode to devotion, artifice, and reinvention.
