Homecoming: returning to memory with QASIMI AW26

Inspired by QASIMI's Autumn/Winter 2026 collection, Homecoming explores memory, belonging and the landscapes that shape how we return to one another.

Memory is a gossamer that’s multilayered, shifting with the present—an active archive that lives. Inspired by its complexity, this story explores the relationality between brother and sister returning to one another and their home, the landscape itself acting as a salve for reminiscing.

That sense of return sits at the heart of QASIMI‘s Autumn/Winter 2026 collection, Memory and the House of Remembrance. Under the direction of Hoor Al-Qasimi, clothing becomes less a fixed object than a vessel, carrying fragments of personal histories through layering, mending and reconstruction.

Photographed against the rugged landscapes of the UAE, Homecoming mirrors the collection’s exploration of memory as something continually reshaped rather than preserved intact. Brother and sister move through familiar terrain as though rediscovering it, their relationship unfolding alongside garments that balance tailoring with utilitarian ease, protection with softness, and structure with movement.

Throughout the collection, acts of repair become acts of remembrance. Collaborating once again with Lebanese artist Dala Nasser, QASIMI incorporates natural dyeing and charcoal frottage techniques that embed traces of landscape directly into the fabric, transforming each garment into a living archive. Here, memory is not something left behind, but something carried forward—stitched into every layer, every gesture and every return.
