What went down at Burberry’s Dubai Mall pop-up
Text Zein Karam
Burberry has transported a slice of quintessential British charm to the Dubai desert—well, sort of. Between November 19 and December 3, Dubai Mall hosted a Burberry pop-up that was an experiential tribute to the brand’s Outerwear 2024 collection. Drawing inspiration from British parks and the famously unpredictable weather of the UK, the space combined Burberry’s rich heritage with contemporary design.

What Went Down
The pop-up was far from a standard shopping space. Picture a classic park pavilion akin to those found in the UK to protect visitors from rain but infused with Burberry’s iconic house codes. The floor featured a pebbledash effect, subtly embossed with the Equestrian Knight Design, symbolising the brand’s legacy.
Inside, it was a carefully curated blend of past and present. Burberry’s 165-year heritage took centre stage in a display of archive pieces, including replicas of the gabardine garments worn by polar explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton. It’s a rare chance to see how the brand’s innovative design has evolved over more than a century and a half, all while staying true to its roots. Alongside these historical pieces, the Outerwear 2024 collection showcases contemporary reinterpretations of timeless styles, blending utility with modern sophistication.

Fashion isn’t the only thing on the menu. In a charming nod to British culture, Burberry partnered with London’s Bread Ahead Bakery to serve traditional teatime favourites. Visitors can enjoy freshly baked treats, tea, and coffee with a side of nostalgia of rainy afternoons and comforting rituals.

It’s Always Burberry Weather
The pop-up was part of Burberry’s global ‘It’s Always Burberry Weather’ campaign. The campaign celebrates the house’s unparalleled expertise in outerwear and its ability to thrive in all weather conditions. From the rainy streets of London to the sunlit halls of Dubai Mall, the campaign reimagines outdoor spaces through Burberry’s distinct aesthetic.
