Audemars Piguet flexes legacy in 2026 with its latest innovations

The Swiss brand explores heritage and material advancement with its newest pieces

Long before smart devices turned timekeeping into glancing at numbers on a screen, watchmakers treated it as a layered and expressive discipline. That concept still drives Audemars Piguet, as clearly seen in its 2026 releases.

The new timepieces reflect technical progression, while also opening a wider conversation about craftsmanship, community, and continuity, values that are increasingly relevant in a culture advancing at breakneck speed.

The limited-edition 150 Heritage pocket watch in particular reinforces that perspective. Powered by the ultra-complicated Calibre 1150 and featuring a Universal Calendar, it connects modern horology to centuries of astronomical observation. Additionally, the piece honours rare métiers d’art and the individuals who have defined the manufacture’s trajectory across generations.

Elsewhere, the Neo Frame Jumping Hour taps into Audemars Piguet’s history of experimentation. The concept was born in the 1920s as a radical rethink of how time could be read, with a mechanical numeral in a small window “jumping” at the turn of each cycle, replacing the traditional sweeping hand. This iteration recreates that design, encased in pink gold and black sapphire as a nod to its Art Deco beginnings.

While the latest additions to the brand’s lineup of watches are undeniably exciting, movement innovation is another key element of 2026’s novelties. Calibre 7139 introduces a new openworked selfwinding perpetual calendar, appearing in a two-toned Code 11.59 and a Royal Oak model combining titanium with Bulk Metallic Glass. The Royal Oak Chronograph 38 mm also evolves through Calibre 6401, improving precision and revealing its inner structure through a sapphire caseback, a first for this model size.

In effect, Audemars Piguet’s release showcases how mechanical watchmaking today is about preserving tradition while also making it visible, relevant, and responsive to the present.
