RIMOWA’s new permanent colourway is set in Ink

RIMOWA's newest colourway brings fresh depth to its iconic aluminium Original collection.

There are few travel objects as instantly recognisable as a RIMOWA case. Long before the first stamp lands in a passport, its grooved aluminium shell has become shorthand for movement itself, collecting scratches, stories and memories along the way.

Now, the German Maison is adding a new permanent chapter to that legacy with Ink Blue, a deep midnight hue inspired by one of humanity’s oldest creative tools. For centuries, ink has been used to record ideas, preserve histories and capture fleeting moments. Here, that same sense of permanence is translated onto RIMOWA’s signature anodised aluminium, where the rich blue finish shifts subtly in the light while retaining the material’s unmistakable metallic character.

Available across the Original Cabin, Check-In L and Trunk Plus, Ink Blue also extends into RIMOWA’s wider universe, appearing on Groove leather bags, an anodised aluminium card holder and a selection of travel accessories inspired by the texture and versatility of denim.

The collection arrives alongside a global campaign that asks writers to pen ‘A Letter to a Time and Place’, reflecting on the cities that continue to shape them. For Dubai, award-winning author Sara Hamdan writes to the city through memories of home, its ever-evolving skyline, multicultural rhythm and enduring relationship with the sea. Together with a campaign starring Sydney Lemmon, the project expands Ink Blue beyond colour alone, framing travel as something that leaves a mark long after the journey ends.
